Before you can start shopping for bathroom materials, there are some important planning steps to make sure your bathroom renovation project goes smoothly. We explain the process from start to finish below.Â
Step 1 – Design consultation
We will arrange an in-home design consultation and building inspection and recommend some design options and hear your ideas for creating your dream bathroom. The design consultation will also determine whether you are looking to change the layout of the bathroom or simply remodel the area. On that day we will provide you with a ballpark budget for your bathroom renovation project.
Step 2 – Our quote process and selecting the products and materials
Following on from our initial consultation we will draw up plans and specifications for the project, including our recommendations for fittings, tiles and colours. We will then meet with our clients in our showroom, spending time to go through all the aspects of the project. That is also the fun part of selecting your desired products, finishes and materials from our Brisbane bathroom showroom begins. Step 3 – Contracts
Once you accept our quotation and decide on a start date that suits you, we will draw up a contract, written to Industry and Legal standards and advise the Queensland Building Service Authority of the contract. They will then send you warranty insurance policy certificate which provide you with 6 ½ years protection. We will also provide you with a seven year workmanship warranty; the fittings we supply are provided with manufacturers’ warranties and any issues you have within those warranty periods will be dealt with by All Bathroom Gear.
Step 4Â –Â Before we start the work
Our Project Manager will complete a pre-start building inspection and schedule the work using our team of fully qualified and licenced specialist tradesmen. All the tradesmen we employ have worked with us at All Bathroom Gear for numerous years and are specialists in bathroom renovations.
Step 5 – The build/installation begins
Before we start the actual work we will cover down all access points to the bathroom to ensure your home is protected and kept as clean as possible. Our bathroom renovations team will now get to work delivering equipment, materials and fixtures and begin to prepare the area for renovation and remodelling work. With most projects there are typically three phases – strip out, carpentry, plumbing and drainage, electrical, waterproofing, tiling, painting and final fit-off. As you can see bathrooms require a lot of different trades to work in different stages. Our project manager will be available to speak with you at any time and our scheduling system will mean that you will be aware of the full process and timing of the work process from start to finish.
Step 6 – Sign off
Once we’ve completed your bathroom renovation project the project supervisor will see that everything has been completed 100 per cent to standard and then arrange professional cleaning of the bathroom. We will then give you at least a week to ensure you are happy with the result before we call to sign off on the project and you can start enjoying your new bathroom!
